    The position is a Technical Specialist VI developing and maintaining software applications for the US Army Corps of Engineers in Huntsville, AL. The candidate will develop and business application and/or security analysis tools. The government technical representative will provide the system enhancements specifications the candidate for implementation. The preferred development programming languages are Microsoft C# and .Net; however, other programming languages may be required to support development of the system. The preferred development database is Oracle; however, other databases may be utilized to support development of the system.  The candidate will perform testing of the application and correct software errors identified during testing. The candidate will document the code, software logic, components, and infrastructure needs, e.g., network protocols and security.  The candidate will support users through working on helpdesk tickets and new development and requirements.  Users needing assistance will submit a request to the helpdesk identifying the assistance needed.  The candidate will receive email notification via the helpdesk software of assistance needed. The candidate must provide problem resolution for the interface with the software tools in question. Deliverables must be prepared on a monthly basis and include source code with documentation within the code to explain standard procedures, changes, requirements, etc. and documentation of interface issues and the resolution.   Some minor travel is required.


    Required Education and Experience:

    • A Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering or Science).
    • A minimum of 15 years' experience 
    • Ability to professionally communicate in both verbal and written forms.
    • Meet requirements to obtain a Secret Clearance.
