Responsibilities

Veteran Corps is looking to provide administrative, programmatic, systems engineering, research analysis, test management and scientific support services to the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Systems Support Directorate (SSD) and Front Office in its effort to combat the catastrophic use of a weapon of mass destruction within the United States and its territories. This support includes the assistance required by the federal staff to effectively administer and manage programs and projects as well as to contribute to scientific and engineering assessments of existing and evolving counter-WMD technologies.

 

Veteran Corps is currently seeking well qualified candidates to perform the following:

  • Searching for a collection of engineering backgrounds (testing, chemical, and sustainability engineers) to support the CWMD SSD.
  • Test Engineers will assist in identifying and implementing Test and Evaluation (T&E) best practices that will be used to evaluate/assess CBRN technologies, algorithms, cyber resiliency, data analytics and data anomaly detection
    • Provide recommended enhancements to the T&E process from lessons learned and Government guidance
    • Support and participate in Test Planning Working Groups, meetings, subordinate working groups, and other test-related technical interchange meetings with supporting organizations external to CWMD. Assist in the T&E Data Management
    • Provide  test documentation peer review support to ensure application of approved test processes, procedures, quality control, and quality assurance.
  • Chemical Engineers to provide technical reviews, program planning and execution, statistical analyses and assessments, and technical assistance in oversight of technical nuclear forensics programs.
  • Sustainability Engineers to support the redesign and retrofit existing systems based on an analysis of current operations, production quality, and the functional deficiencies that may potentially hinder these processes.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  •  Bachelor's degree in a related engineering disciplines
  •  Minimum of 3 years related experience
  •  Active DoD Clearance at the SECRET level (required)

 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • A good understanding of engineering science fundamentals.
  • A good understanding of design and manufacturing processes. 
  • A multi-disciplinary, systems perspective. 
  • A basic understanding of the context in which engineering is practiced
  • Good communication skills.
  • High ethical standards.
  • An ability to think both critically and creatively - independently and cooperatively.
  • Flexibility. The ability and self-confidence to adapt to rapid or major change.
