VMware SME w/ IAT Level II Certification

We have an exciting opportunity for a VMware Subject Matter Expert to join our team in Huntsville, AL to support an Army Contract. The VMware SME will provide technical expertise supporting information system components and enterprise environments for a large (8000+) user community. The VMware SME must have a customer centric approach and provide all levels of support for the technical and cyber teams as well as the user base community.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Must have experience with vCloud Suite (EXSi, vRA, vRO, vROPS, etc).
  • Experienced in operating in environments with 40+ hosts with multiple vCenters.
  • Experience with Hyper-converged systems and software such as Nutanix, VMware vSAN, NSX and Dell Hardware.
  • Ability to create, manage, and maintain NFS file servers and work with storage appliances.
  • Ability to create, edit, and maintain Microsoft Active Directory groups, GPOs, user accounts, and other objects.
  • Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.
  • Assist in maintaining system documentation such as SOPs and policies.
  • Understanding of information Assurance (IA) systems and practices, such as DISA STIGs, RMF, and system hardening.
  • Provide direct customer service and technical support to local and remote users as required via phone, e-mail, on-line systems and in person.
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.



Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • US citizenship is required.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 10 years overall experience in IT solutions is required
  • DoD 8570 compliant. (The DoD 8570 Level II certifications - CCNA- Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security + CE, or SSCP).

  • Strong customer service/client facing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with little or no direct supervision and in a team environment.
