Software Engineer (Intermediate Level)

INTERFUZE is currently seeking well qualified entry-level candidates with security clearance to perform the following:


Software Development:

  • Quickly grasp and modify pre-existing software based upon new and emerging requirements put forward by a technical community.
  • Produce high-quality software documentation to be delivered to the customer (e.g., software version description documents, technical order/manual inputs).
  • Assist in designing software test plans for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Developmental Tests (DT) and Operational Tests (DT).
  • Conduct and Supervise software testing on laboratory and operational systems.

System Engineering:

  • Quickly develop, test, and deploy PowerShell scripts to automate/streamline process on both laboratory and operational systems.
  • Perform quarterly updates on both laboratory and operational systems. Including assembling vendor-provided patches, lab-testing/documenting and deploying to the operational systems.
  • Assist in integrating new equipment into the POCKET J System to meet new and emerging requirements. Including identifying obsolete equipment and proposing suitable replacements.

Laboratory Management:

  • Develop, optimize, and document procedures for the configuration of GOTS/COTS equipment.
  • Assist in training Field Service Technicians (FST) on configuring, troubleshooting, and fielding systems.
  • Remotely assist FSTs in troubleshooting complicated helpdesk tickets. Including remotely interfacing with system operators to walk them through more troubleshooting steps.
  • Maintain the POCKET J laboratory systems at the Edgewood location. Including the server racks, software configuration and lab-connection to remote FSTs.



Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years related software development experience
  • Proficient programming in C# /.NET 
  • Proficient scripting in PowerShell 
  • A strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows Server operating systems.
  • A strong knowledge of networking – Including protocols such as IPv4/IPv6, UDP, TCP/IP, SNMP. As well as standard/common ports, network security devices and network types.
  • Network tools such as PING, ARP, Wireshark, NMAP, etc.
  • Knowledge of SNMP applications such as Net-SNMP.


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experiencing working in an Air Force or DoD environment;
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security function, common processes, and frameworks;
  • Experiencing interfacing with customers to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced, high-demanding environment;
  • Experience configuring Cisco branch level routers; and
  • Experience utilizing and configuring files distribution servers (TFTP, FTP and SFTP).
  • Active clearance preferred

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance at the Secret level for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
